Configure Patients

Overview

The "Configure Patients" dialog permits entry or update of patient information. After entering patient display values the "Save" button is pressed to validate and save entered data. Multiple addresses may be assigned to a patient via the "Address" panel. Click the "Delete" button to delete the currently selected patient and all related address and note information. The "Delete Address" button deletes the currently selected address record of the patient.

Entry tips

Type "?" in a promptable line edit and press TAB to view and/or select a code value. Click on the desired code in the related selection display to select the code value.

Patient

The "Patient" panel permits selection or creation of a new patient. Type an existing patient to retrieve or type a new patient number to create a new patient. (If the patient number entered already exists it will be retrieved, else a new patient will be created when "Save" is clicked.) Alternatively, type "?" to search and select from a list of existing patients. Click "Save" to save patient changes or "Delete" to delete the current patient.

Address

The Address page permits selection or creation of address information for the patient currently selected on the "Patient" panel. Multiple addresses may be maintained for a patient. Select an address number from the "Address number" combo box to add or change the address. Type address information and press "Save address" to save changes. Press the "Delete Address" button to delete the currently displayed address number. When a new address is created the Name value for the address will default from the Full name on the "Patient" panel.

The "Notes" panel permits entry of free format comments at the patient level. The text entered will be associated with the current patient selected in the "Patient" panel. Type text into the text box and press TAB to save this patient level note. Additionally, a file may be attached to this patient via the "Attach" button. An attachment may be viewed via "View attachment" or removed via the "Remove" button which is visible if an attachment exists. A patient that has an associated note or attachment will have a document id number displayed in "Document".

Notes entered for a patient are available for review in the "Patient Inquiry" dialog.
