Adjust Invoices

The "Adjust Invoices" display permits changes to posted invoices. Either Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable invoices may be changed. AP invoices will be adjusted when "Adjust" menu option is selected from the Accounts Payable menu or accounts receivable invoices when selected from the Accounts Receivable menu. The adjustment process is similar for both types of invoices. Not all attributes of an invoice are eligible for adjustment. For example, the invoice total is inhibited. Changes to invoice date or customer or vendor number are permitted only if the invoice is open. Invoice selection may be restricted by user security.

Data entry tips

Type "?" in a promptable line edit and press TAB to view and/or select a code value. Click on the desired code in the related selection display to select the code value.

The "Invoice" panel permits adjustment of a posted invoice. Reversed (void) invoices are not available for adjustment. Type an invoice number (or prompt via "?") and press TAB. The invoice will be retrieved. Change values in any field that is not inhibited. Press the "Save" button to save changes to the invoice. If the invoice is in use by another user or process or is not found, an error message will be displayed.

The "Notes" panel enables entry of free format comments related to an invoice. The text entered will be associated with the invoice from the "Invoice" panel. Type text into the text area and press TAB to save the invoice note. Additionally, a file may be attached to the invoice via the "Attach" button. An attachment may be viewed via the "View" button or removed via "Remove". An invoice that has an associated note or attachment will have a document id number displayed in "Document".

Notes entered for an invoice will be available for review in "Vendor Inquiry" or "Customer Inquiry" depending on the type of invoice.
